Building off a solid foundation of economic development, this course integrates political and national influences in building a profound awareness for factors that drive development. One of the primary areas of focus is the design of policies that drive foreign direct investments, which can fuel economic development. Integrating systems thinking helps learners not only understand the forces of development, but also helps them to create strategies that influences development.

The introduction course provides learners an overview of the master
thesis research project in the program. Learners will also identify
personal interest areas to assist faculty in building their research
project through the program with a specific focus on scholarly writing
and research at the graduate level. The course will also introduce
basic concepts in business research with a specific focus on
quantitative research.

The course introduces the concepts key to successful international
business ventures. The purpose of the course is to stimulate in the
student’s mind on international economics and effect on national development and growth. the course also discuss international business, strategy and operations from a global
perspective and how international economic policies shape business decisions. The course should challenge the student to think critically
about global economies and competition. It also prepares students to take important
executive positions in managing business amidst global economic policies and opportunities.
