Course Description
The
course introduces students to the concept of historical return and risk on
investment, capital market efficiency, short-term financial management
techniques and computations of expected return. The course discusses issues
such as capital market history, methods of estimating expected risks and
returns of single and portfolio investments, determination of cost of capital,
the capital assets pricing model, financial leverage and capital structure
policy. The course exposes students to how firms raise long-term capital,
short-term financial planning, and working capital management techniques and
issues on dividend policy.
