Description
This course describes cost and management
accounting in the broader sense. It provides information in the area of cost
accounting, which is helpful in the effective utilization of resources with
cost-controlling techniques like budgeting, standard costing and variance
analysis. It also explores an activity-based costing system, productivity
measurement and total quality.
Management accounting covers the areas of decision-making, pricing and transfer
pricing and decentralization. In particular, the course emphasizes modern
theories of performance measurement and management control systems. The course
also draws upon business practice, contemporary and international research,
case studies, and the applied research experiences of students.
