Course Description:
This is an introductory course in educational research methods and computer applications in data analysis. It includes topics such as the significance of research in education, the goals and objectives of research, the research continuum, sampling and instrumentation, data analysis and report writing. It also includes ethical issues in research.
Specific Objectives and outcomes of the Course: At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Conceive and develop research project proposals;
- Choose, with rationale, the appropriate research paradigm to use for a particular project, either from the qualitative or quantitative or a combination of approaches ;
- Choice and justify the use of a particular design out of about 10 designs for a particular research project;
- Device and conduct a research project , including sampling, instrumentation, and supervise field work
- Analyse the data along the lines of the objectives
